2024 Presidential Preference Primary Candidates

AB126 of the 2021 Nevada legislative session authorized Presidential Preference Primaries (PPP) to replace major party caucuses. Starting in 2024, Nevada will have a PPP instead of caucuses to determine the preferences of registered Democratic and Republican voters for their party’s nominee for U.S. President from among multiple candidates in their party.

You may only vote for candidates from your own major political party (the major party you specified in your voter registration). Voters who do not have Democratic or Republican as their party in their registration may not vote in this election. Existing Clark County voters may update their party online or in person when they check in to vote using the same-day registration updates process. New Clark County voters may also register online or in person when they check in to vote using the same-day registration process.

Like any other election in Clark County, the Clark County Election Department will conduct the PPP. Like all elections in Nevada, it will be an all-mail ballot election. In-person voting options will still be available during early voting and on Election Day.

Information on the PPP

The last day to register to vote in-person at the City Clerk's office is January 9, 2024.

For more information on voter registration and registration updates is available at Clark County Election Department.

Mail ballots will be mailed beginning December 28, 2023.

Mail ballot tracking

During an election, you may check online if the Election Department has received your voted mail ballot. Login to  Registered Voter Services and select "Track my Mail Ballot" from the dropdown menu.
