The City of Boulder City and the Shane Patton Foundation will be holding the unveiling and ribbon cutting ceremony of the Shane Patton Memorial Monument in Wilbur Square Park on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. Special guests include Shane's family, friends, and federal, state and local officials. Two flyovers are planned:
- U.S. Air Force - two fighter jets from Nellis AFB
- The Boulder City Veterans Flying Group
The sound from these planes will be brief, but quite loud. This could be the source of stress in individuals with post-traumatic stress disorder. The noise may also frighten pets; we recommend keeping pets indoors from 3:55 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Please do not call 911 about the noise. Thank you for your consideration.
Petty Officer Second Class Shane Patton, a Navy SEAL from Boulder City, was killed in action on June 28, 2005, in Afghanistan during “Operation Red Wings.” More about the unveiling can be found at www.facebook.com/share/1EuTkUm7A4/.
