NRS requires municipal water providers in Nevada to develop a water conservation plan and to update the plan every five years. The draft Joint SNWA Conservation Plan has been updated as required. Among other things, it reflects changing Colorado River conditions and Southern Nevada’s associated conservation response efforts. The plan also includes a new water loss reduction goal and corresponding actions to support goal achievement.
The plan is tentatively slated for SNWA Board consideration in November, following public comment, state approval and member agency adoption. SNWA will provide draft agenda item content and help to coordinate member agency scheduling after they receive approval from the State.
Tentative Review Schedule:
- 7.22.24: Member Agency Review complete
- 7.24.24 - 8.12.24: Public Review (as required, concurrent with State review)
- 7.24.24 - 9.31.2024: State Review
- 10.1.24 - 11.30.24: Member Agency Adoption
- 11.21.24: SNWA Board Adoption
