Operating out of one fire station, operations personnel respond to over 2,500 emergency calls annually, staffing two Advanced Life Support (ALS) rescue units, one ALS engine company. In addition, we have two reserve ALS rescue units, one reserve engine, and one reserve ladder truck.
The Boulder City Fire Department is responsible for a 205-square mile area with 21 full-time personnel on three 7-person shifts working 48-hour shifts. Each shift is staffed with one captain, one engineer, and five firefighter/paramedics.
The fire department provides services to mitigate the effects of a variety of emergency situations, including fires, medical emergencies, physical entrapment, and releases of hazardous materials. Providing these services is the responsibility of our operations personnel.
In addition to emergency responses, these members provide a wide range of services to the community, including fire inspections, blood-pressure screening, tours of fire stations and apparatus, and fire and life safety presentations within the community.
