Housing Discrimination

In housing related transactions (whether for sales or rental), it is against federal and/or state law for real estate agents, landlords, property managers, lenders, homeowners’ associations, etc. to discriminate against persons because of:

  • Familial status (families with children under 18 and pregnant women)
  • Handicap or disability (including reasonable accommodations / modifications to property)
  • National origin, ethnicity or ancestry
  • Race or color
  • Religion
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation, gender identity or expression

File a Complaint

If you believe you have been discriminated against for any of these reasons, please email the City Planner or call 702-293-9282. Please provide the following information:

  • The nature of the discriminatory act (what the person said or did)
  • The basis of discrimination (race, national origin, etc.)
  • Who your complaint is about (name, company, address)
  • Address or name of the property in question
  • Your contact information

The city is required to keep a record of any discrimination complaints which are made about persons / companies relative to properties in Boulder City. However, assistance regarding these types of complaints can be provided by the following agency:
